Can I just insure my motorcycle through ICBC?
You certainly can, and there are situations where insuring all through ICBC is a better option. However, many clients may benefit from better coverage and pricing by insuring their motorcycle through a private insurer. We will advise on which option would work better for you.
Does my Home Insurance Cover my Motorcycle during the Off Season?
No, Home Insurance policies do not cover motorcycles, or any other motor vehicle for that matter. Having a private motorcycle policy ensures your bike is protected year round against loss or damage.
I only use my Motorcycle in the summer, can I cancel my private insurance during the off season?
Private motorcycle policies are priced knowing that most bikes are only ridden during the summer months. For this reason, there is very little refund if the policies are canceled midterm. Some exceptions can be made, such as when a bike is sold. It is to the owners benefit to have their bike protected year round as Home Insurance policies do not protect motorcycles in storage.
How Much is Private Motorcycle Insurance?

If I purchased a private Motorcycle Policy, Do I still need ICBC?
Yes, before you ride, you must Purchased Basic ICBC Autoplan along with any Extended Third Party Liability you wish to carry. If your bike is off the road, then ICBC is not required as protection for the bike is covered through the Private Motorcycle Insurer.
